Jason's Idea To Feed The Growing Family

Happy Monday everyone! It's week 16 - my cold is gone and I'm feeling much better. Only 2 more weeks until we find out who was right on the gender poll!

This weekend we visited my parents and got to meet my new niece, Eva. She is 1 month old and so adorable. Jason got to go fishing, so he was happy, and this is now his plan on how to provide for the family (anyone want any fish?). Then Sunday we started working on the cabinet that we're building in our kitchen (not really 'we' - it's more just Jason). Here are some pics from the weekend.

Me this week...my aunt Naomi suggested that we take this picture in the same place every time to see if my tummy gets past the doorknob!

Yeti Sighting

Week 15...pretty much the same as week 14 except that I'm battling an annoying cold. Thankfully I am over the worst of it. Our baby is now about 4 inches long and about 1.75 ounces - about the size of a navel orange. The websites are telling me that the baby is now covered in this stuff called lanugo - which is a very fine hair that will continue to grow until week 26. With all that hair, the baby is currently a spitting image of his or her daddy!

Here's me this week...I'm sure you'll be able to see the baby soon!

Knocked Up

Yes, it's true. Hopefully we've gotten a chance to tell you personally, and if not, we apologize!! Life has been a little hectic these past several weeks.

We are currently 14 weeks into this pregnancy thing, and it is amazing how fast things happen! Some of my pants are getting tight, but other than that I normally don't feel pregnant. I have been very blessed as I know a lot of women are very sick while they're pregnant. I did have about 2 months of full-time nausea, but now I'm feeling much better and am very excited about all the changes that this 2nd trimester will bring.

We've been to the doctor twice so far, once at 9 weeks and then again last week (week 13). We were able to hear the heartbeat both times, which was so exciting.

We took our first positive pregnancy test on Mother's Day (May 13th). I then proceeded to take a 2nd test the next day, and then of course a 3rd test the next day, just to be sure. We had our first doctor's appointment on our 3rd anniversary, June 12th. It took a couple of minutes for our doctor to find the heartbeat, since the baby was only 1 inch long, about the size of a grape. Once she found it, Jason said that it sounded like a train. Then he asked the doctor if that meant our kid would be a train wreck. The doctor started laughing (does that mean yes?). On our 2nd appointment, it was very easy to find the heartbeat, because the baby had already grown to about 3 inches - about the size of a peach. The heartbeat was really strong and about 158 beats per minute.

We are very thankful for all of our friends & family and appreciate all your prayers & support during this exciting time in our lives! We'll keep you updated on our progress!

Here's a picture of me at 14 weeks...can you see the baby yet? I can!
