Hooray for Spring!

Yesterday was the official 1st day of spring, and it was a beautiful, sunny, breezy 70 degrees outside! Josiah & I went for a walk to celebrate. As far as I can tell, he loves being outside (a.k.a. he doesn't complain much).

I took the following picture of the back of Josiah's head because I think it's funny that all his hair has fallen out except for this little strip at the base of his head. I'm sure we're seeing a glimpse of his future - sorry Josiah!

Here's a cute picture of Josiah "talking" to me. Let me know if any of you can translate baby babbling.

And last but definitely not least...Jason was able to capture one of Josiah's big smiles!!! He is so super cute.

Oh Happy Day

On Tuesday, 3/11 Josiah slept for 8 hours straight!!!! It has been at least three months since I've slept through the night, so my body was not sure how to react, but I definitely enjoyed the sleep. The longest he has slept since then has been 5 hours in a row, which is not too shabby - it's just not as nice as 8 hours!

Here are some photos of Josiah that I have been meaning to post. The first two are of Josiah with his great-grandmas on Jason's side, and the 3rd one is Josiah with his cousin Trent & his aunt April.
Those pictures were taken at the end of January, so he is a lot bigger now - probably getting close to 12 lbs (I hope to weigh him tomorrow to check). Just over the past week or so, Josiah has been figuring out how to smile, which has been super fun! We have yet to catch it in a picture, but we'll keep working on that. It is so cute when he smiles at us.



Last night we watched a movie called Fast Food Nation. We didn't really like the movie because it was less about the facts and more about fictional portrayals of the facts. Plus it was somewhat depressing and disturbing. One redeeming thing about watching the movie was the three short animated 'Meatrix' clips in the special features of the movie. Yes, that's right, we are becoming hippies.

Odds & ends

We went out to dinner to celebrate Jason's birthday (he turned 30 on February 10th!) and Valentines day, so we took some pictures since we were all dressed up. Josiah was in this super cute puppy sweater that was handed down to him from his cousin Kason. He says thanks because he is way into fashion right now.
I'm not sure what we were doing in this picture, but we were getting ready to go somewhere when Josiah decided to spit up to protest getting his picture taken.
Today we had beautiful weather and we appreciated it very much after a bitterly cold February. We underestimated how warm it was outside (about 68 degrees), so when we took Josiah for a walk today we may have bundled him up just a little too much...not to mention that his gloves are each about the same size as his head. His daddy dressed him, which is why his outfit does not coordinate very well! Josiah has had a couple of 4 and 5 hour stretches of sleep which has been amazing for me! Then other nights he gets up after only 2 hours of sleep, so sometimes he is not sure if he would rather sleep or eat. He is now about 12 weeks old, but it has only been 6 weeks since his due date. He isn't officially smiling yet, although we catch glimpses of partial smiles every once in a while.

As you can probably tell, he is still getting cuter every day!
